Research (+funding)

Anastasia’s research interests focus on philosophy and political theory with emphasis on political arguments and epistemology of modernity predominantly in the 19th, the 20th and the 21st centuries. She is particularly interested in political philosophy and theory concerning the notions of democracy, citizenship, civil society, public sphere, cosmopolitanism and in the evolution of epistemological thought.

  1. Jean Monnet Module (teaching and research)/Erasmus+ Programme entitled Democracy at Risk: EU politics in the 21st century which is funded by the European Commission (2022-2025, 30.000 Euro).
  2. Research Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin/Harry Ransom Center for Humanities (USA, Visiting Scholar at the Department of Philosophy, 2017).
  3. G. Papaioannou Fellowship from the American School of Classical Studies Athens and Princeton (Greece and USA, 2013-14).
  4. 2013-2014: Princeton and Athens, USA and Greece:  American School of Classical Studies-George Papaioannou Fellowship. Research conducted on modern political theory – Title of the project: “The Challenge of Democracy”.

 

PARTICIPATION IN COLLECTIVE RESEARCH PROJECTS

  1. 2019 to the present: University of the Peloponnese, in Research Group “Political Technology”. Duties: Coordination of research team and Lifelong Education Programmes, organization of research studies and activities of research dissemination.
  2. 2014-2015: European Programme for Culture and Politics, National and Kapodistrian University – Athens, Greece. Funded by the European Commission.
    Action: Research, teaching of issues of cultural changes and political innovations in the 20th century in Europe.
    Results: Curriculum Development, coordination, organization and teaching of the series of seminars and courses for employees in the Greek public sector. Administration of the programme throughout Greece under the auspices of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
  3. 2012-2013: European Programme “Fundamental Rights Education in Europe” (F.R.E.E.). Participation and coordination of the European research project “Fundamental Rights and Citizenship”. Funded by the European Commission.
    Action: Research and teaching of issues of politics and political theory of the 20th century.
    Results: Curriculum development, coordination, organization and teaching of the series of seminars and courses for employees in the Greek public sector.
  4. 2011 (May): Programme for Intercultural Education.
    Tutor of the seminar Basic Principles of Interculturalism – Organizers of the seminar: EMEA (Association for the Study of Humanities). Funded by the European Commission.
    Action: Research and teaching of basic issues of politics and political theory of the 20th century.
